Positive self-talk is an internal dialogue that makes a person feel good about themselves. A person can use positive self-talk to think optimistically and feel motivated. Identifying negative self-talk is the first step toward thinking more positively. It is a powerful psychological tool that involves consciously choosing to engage in uplifting, supportive, and optimistic thoughts about oneself. It is the practice of replacing negative or critical thoughts with positive affirmations and realistic, constructive beliefs. The way we speak to ourselves can greatly influence our emotions, behaviors, and overall mental health. Positive self-talk will help a person boost their self-esteem and face the situation that they are facing.
